Does Ballet Shoe Ribbon Have To Be Shiny?

I bought some ribbon for my demi pointe ballet shoes from Lincraft... The ribbon was named as "Ballet" and it''s the right ballet pink colour but it isn't shiny... does this matter?

if their for demi pointe shoes, it really doesn't matter. ribbon on demi pointe shoes is pretty much decoration, and it wont matter until your fully en pointe. when you purchase pointe shoes, the store should provide you ribbon and elastic for your shoes.

no because its how long the string holds up not its appearance
The shiny ribbon is called satin, I use that now but i used to use other ribbon that wasnt shiny at all. It doesn't matter the apperance of the ribbon, it is only there to support your foot when you are dancing.
No it doesnt matter as long as they hold up and are long enough.
Not really, no. The ribbon is obviously like something to support your feet in the shoe. If you wear the shoes without any ribbons, you will easily spoil your performance because the shoe will be loose and your feet will come out of the shoes and you'll trip.

But if you like decorations and creativity, you can use shiny ribbons as it'll maybe suit your costume. ^_^
nah ... as long as it works......

=] the shiny ribbon is satin....and personally i prefer it
